More Star Wars Propaganda for the fine folks at Topps.
The portrait in this piece was originally painted as
a sort of plea to George Lucas to get him a give the
go-ahead on a series of Joseph Campbell based
“Hero’s Journey” cards I wanted to paint. I wrote a note
telling him how important Star Wars was to me growing up,
and included the painting in the package. A couple of days
after I sent it to him, I got a phone call giving approval to proceed.
This image is a tribute to the 501st Legion, whose charitable work has made the world a better place.
This one went unused. The other TWENTY Star Wars Propaganda images I created for Topps will be out this Spring.
I can’t wait for you to see them.

Here at last is the final third of the Retro-Triptych I’ve been putting together for the last few years. It will be available this summer, just in time for the 30th anniversary of Return of the Jedi!
Pencils and acrylic on colored paper. Also for Dallas Comic Con.
